From Natural Honey to Viking Tradition

Beekeeping past down from father to son, created the perfect base for the birth of Viking Royale Meadery.

Starting with just two humble hives, Eduard set out to use his father’s tradition methods to not only provide his family with the finest honey but to share its benefits with his community.

No chemicals. No antibiotics. Just the untamed spirit of nature’s finest nectar, extracted with the same vigour as a man on a mission.

From that passion for the finest natural ingredients and devotion to nuturing his hives, Eduard begin to experiment with the drink of Viking kings and thanes.

“Refreshing mead that packs a punch and tastes like nature intended it.”

What do Vikings have to do with mead?

A lot actually! Without modern science water that wouldn’t make you sick was hard to come by. Enter mead. The drink, made with readily available ingredients, made it’s way into the hearts of all Vikings. Though most especially Kings and Thanes who saw sharing a horn of mead as not just a means of quenching thirst, but a gesture of camaraderie, trust, and hospitality! It was enjoyed during feasts, celebrations, and religious ceremonies, serving as a symbol of status and prestige. Mead also found it’s way into Norse mythology as it was believed to be the drink of the gods and associated with wisdom and inspiration.  Mead was more than just a drink to the Vikings—it was a reflection of their values, beliefs, and way of life.
